1Beginning riding at his father's farm some 25 years ago, Cassio now counts winning the Grand Prix in Aachen (2009), the Nations Cup in Sopot in 2011, and the Grand Prix in Arezzo in 2011 and 2012 as his top performances in a career full of successes. Other highlights include 3rd place at the Grand Prix in Linz (2011), the Munster Grand Prix (2011) and the Nations Cup in Barcelona in 2011. Overall, his most memorable career moment is competing in the World Equestrian Games in 2006.

He as been riding for Ukraine since January 2009. He initially came to Europe after university, to enhance his riding skills, and was invited by Rodrigo and Nelson Pessoa to work for them at Haras de Ligny in Fleurus, Belgium. he stayed there until 2007 when he was invited to Ukraine by Alexander Onishchenko.
